About Post 9675

Sarpy County VFW Post 9675 was established in 1949, and is nestled on 19 acres along the Platte River. Our main focus is serving homeless or impoverished Veterans withing the Omaha Metro, and our spacious property makes us a premier outdoors retreat for youth and community organizations.

We meet at our post on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1800. Check out our calendar for any updates or changes to the date/time or location!

VFW's Mission

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of the United States is a 501(c)(19) nonprofit Veterans service organization comprised of eligible Veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces. Before our inception, many war Veterans arrived home wounded or sick, and there was no medical care or pension for them; they were left to care for themselves. Having existed since 1899 and having been chartered by the U.S. Congress since 1936, the mission of the VFW is to foster camaraderie among United States Veterans of overseas conflicts, and to unselfishly serve them, the military and our communities. We advocate on behalf of all Veterans, and we ensure that Veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.

Vision

VFW Post 9675 does not have an active canteen (bar or restaurant), which allows us to focus actively serving Veterans, Active Duty, their families, and the local Sarpy County community.

Our post members are a tight group and family, and we work towards fulfilling our nation's promise "to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan".

Our vision is to be a place where Veterans and the community can come together for camaraderie and patriotism. We currently work with (and sponsor) youth organizations and we encourage outdoors gatherings and activities at our post.
